To celebrate my cousin Eva's 15th birthday, I wanted to build something a little more memorable (and a little
more torturous) than a simple present.
Last year on her 14th, I'd devised a fairly difficult crossword puzzle (we were very into competing to solve
the daily NYT mini crossword at the time). Each word she filled in correctly earned her one gift.
This year I wanted to up my game.
What emerged was a digital treasure hunt across 15 forked realities.
Eva's mission was to navigate through these dimensions, but she couldn't do it alone. At every level, she had
to track down a real-world family member who was "in character" as a figure from that universe. They held the
hints she needed to stabilize the multiverse, one fragment at a time.
For every victory, she reclaimed "a piece of herself" (complemented by a carefully chosen physical gift),
culminating in 15 surprises for her 15 years.
The Multiverse Directory (Cheat Sheet)
Since you can't exactly interrogate my relatives for the answers, here is the
secret archive of the
answers to each level. Keep it handy as you enter the mission so you get to experience all 15 levels.
